From June 18 to June 20, the 16th annual meeting of International Association for Intercultural Communication Studies (IAICS), sponsored by IAICS and South China University of Technology (SCUT), organized by School of International Education (SIE), was held in Guangzhou. Vice-president of SCUT QIU Xueqing, President of IAICS L.Brooks Hill, President of Association of Foreign Students Management LIU Jinghui, and President of China Association of Intercultural Communication Studies (CAIC) JIA Yuxin attended the annual meeting and gave speeches. The meeting was presided over by the principal of SIE.
In his address, QIU extended his welcome to the attendees of experts and scholars home and abroad. He hoped that this meeting could improve the progress of intercultural communication in SCUT and could constitute a grand event in intercultural communication studies.
Under the theme of intercultural communication and adaption, the 3-day meeting discussed more than 80 sub-themes. Meanwhile, the attendees also made an in-depth discussion of the current international hot issues and social phenomena from the view of intercultural communication.
