On the morning of March 17, Avraham Nir, Israel Consul General in Guangzhou, accompanied by the personnel from Guangdong Department of Education, visited SCUT.
At the symposium, vice-president ZHU Min extended his welcome to the Council General and introduced to him the achievements of SCUT in terms of engineering, scientific research and architecture. Mr. Nir said that Consulate General of Israel in Guangzhou focuses on the scientific cooperation between Israel and South China, and that it will help establish a connection between The Israel Institute of Technology (Technion) and SCUT, to explore the possibilities of cooperation in various fields like students exchange, teacher exchange visits, scientific cooperation and study in China for international students.
It is learnt that Technion is an industrial city located in Haifa, northern Israel. Founded in 1924, Technion is the first university oriented to engineering and applied science in Israel, a world-famous polytechnic university as well-known as MIT and ICL.
