Finals of Amateur Group in Four Stars Competition-----the Extraordinary Ordinary

In the evening of Nov. 10, the StudentActivityCenter in Li De Building was permeated with light and delight. The Amateur Group s Finals of the 20^th China Bank Cup Four Stars (of Singing, Dancing, Music Instruments, and Humor) Competition was held here.

Zhou Yang, secretary of administration branch of HNU and the deputy-chief of the Organization Department of the Party Committee; Yan Yu, the Secretary of the Youth League Committee, and Tang Changfei, the associated professor of the MusicCollege were present at the event as judges on invitation. The presidiums from Central South University, Hunan University, and XiangtanUniversity, along with nearly 600 teachers and students of our university watched the competition.

The stage was shining with youth glamour. From original songs to imitation shows, from dazzling pop dance to graceful dance drama, from fashionable Rock & Roll to classical music, performers showed their enthusiasm and talent, giving full play to their youth charm. The Canon Rock, combining the sound of enthusiastic electric guitar and gentle violin perfectly, touched the audience s heart with double-charm of classicism and post-modernism. Horse Racing, the folk music ensemble, brought about the feeling of galloping across the vast prairie and immersing in the pure atmosphere of green grass and blue sky. The skit Big Words, full of unconstrained imagination and successive laugh stocks, evoked much laughter from the audience. Eleven skies of Music, a dancing group, performed the dance Children at Empty Home. Their graceful dance showed the unattended children s lonely wait to the full, drawing tears fromall audience.

The party was ended with complete success at the pace of the fanatic pop dance Just soso. The whole party, an audiovisual feast, left a deep impression on the audience.

As one of thehighly expected activities of the 24^th Cultural and Art Festival and the 16^th Students Academy Festival, the 20th China Bank Cup Four Stars (of Singing, Dancing, Music Instruments, and Humor) Competition was sponsored by the Youth League Committee, undertaken by the Student Union.
