Women Basketball Team of HNU Welcomes Its Ninth Successive Championship

Women basketball team of HunanNormalUniversity welcomed its ninth successive championship on the afternoon of Nov.4th after beating women basketball team from XiangtanUniversity 84-49 in the women basketball finals of the 9^th Hunan University Games.

The Women s basketball finals were held in the gymnasium of HunanUniversity. At the very beginning of the game, our team attacked and got scores with ease, which was a good omen for the game. Team of XiangtanUniversity was also very brave and unwilling to show white feather and they scored by driving lay up. As the game went on, our team brought the character of quickness, agility and accuracy into full play and scored successively by quick attacks. Insiders played important roles in the defense, which held back the attacks of their rivals efficiently. Our team took the lead by 21-11 in the first quarter.

Team of XiangtanUniversity launched a fierce counterattack in the second quarter. However, they were deterred by our active defense and skilled breakthrough. We kept ahead by 39-19 in the first half.

In the second half, team of XiangtanUniversity tried hard to catch up. However, it is obviously that they were insufficient in physical strength and made mistakes on end. This provided chances for our team. They launched several quick attacks, made larger the point margin and locked the victory with the rival 35 points far behind.

Women group of the 9^thHunanUniversity games was closed here with a full success, followed by a prize-awarding ceremony.
