The Internet of Things IOT Industrial Innovation Alliance in Wuhan China Optics Valley was inaugurated on April 25 in Wuhan Optics Valley Sci & Tech Convention and Exhibition Center.
Wuhan Optics Valley IOT Industrial Innovation Alliance is initiated by Wuhan Research Institute of Posts & Telecommunications WRI , HUST as well as other 47 companies and institutions, and approved by Wuhan Municipal Information Industrial Office and East Lake High-tech Development Zone Management Committee. Yu Shaohua acts as president of the alliance council, with WRI as the council institution. HUST assumes the post of alliance secretary-general, with its secretariat situated in National Engineering Laboratory for Next Generation Internet Access NELNGIA . Prof. Liu Deming of the College of Optoelectronic Science and Engineering, and the director of NELNGIA, acts as Secretary-general.
The Internet of Things refers to an intelligence information network of everyday objects linked by the internet. Through technologies such as FRID radio frequency identification , optical fibre sensor, micromechanical sensor and two dimensional bar code, the collection to the internet enables objects to have person-to-thing, thing-to-thing and thing-to-person communication.
The Internet of Things is considered as another momentous IT wave following the introduction of internet. The technologies are highly emphasized by Euro-American countries. Similarly Chinese government put high level emphasis on the technologies, since they are listed as top seven emerging strategic industries to be stressed.
Along with the inaugural meeting, achievements exhibition of IOT industrial Alliance was held.
