A delegation consisting of Prof. Tim Keener, Deputy-dean of the College of Engineering and Applied Science, the University of Cincinnati; Dr. Sumana Keener; Prof. Hao Jiming, Academician of the China Engineering Academy; and Dr. Jiang Xiaolin, Vice-President of Marsulex Environmental Technologies Corporation,visited SDU to discuss cooperation with the National Engineering Laboratory for Emission Reduction of Pollutants from Coal Burning. Prof. Wang Qilong, senior vice-president, received the delegation and presented Prof. Keener and Dr. Jiang the certifications of honorary professorship and adjunct professor ship respectively. Through discussion, the two universities agreed to co-build a laboratory and cooperate in desulphurization, decarbonization and demercuration of flue gas. Initial intentions were achieved in exchanging of students and young faculty. Prof. Keener and Dr. Sumana Keener delivered lectures in the SDU Qianfoshan Campus on carbon emission reduction technology and pollutant control policy of US. Tian Maocheng, Dean of the School of Energy and Power Engineering and Ma Chunyuan, Director of the National Engineering Laboratory for Emission Reduction of Pollutants from Coal Burning attended the meeting.
