Lankan Ambassador Karunatilaka Amunugama Visited SDU

From December 10th to 11th, Mr. Karunatilaka Amunugama, Sri Lankan Ambassador to China visited SDU and was received by President Xu Xianming.

In the meeting, President Xu introduced the education and medical research of SDU and the achievements in cardiovascular research, public health policy, obstetrics and gynecology study and reproductive medicine research. Mr. Amunugama introduced the China-Sri Lanka cooperation in economy and culture. He expressed his intention to promote cooperation between China and Sri Lanka in various fields, particularly in higher education. He wished to further promote the cooperation between Sri Lankan universities with SDU. Mr. Amunugama also expressed his intention in furtherance of SDU's medical education application to the official accreditation in Sri Lanka. Staff from the International Office and the College of International Education also attended the meeting.

During the visit, Mr. Amunugama met with SDU's Sri Lankan students and inspected SDU's international medical education program. At present, ten Sri Lankan students are taking premedical courses in SDU.
