Sponsored by China Oil Painting Society, the 2nd national exhibition of small-scale oil paintings entitled research and improvement is currently on display at Hall 13, 14, 15, 16 and 17 until April 12, 2009. A total of 204 exhibits selected from more than 6,000 works across the country, reflect the basic level of the small-scale oil paintings in recent years.
Following the first of this kind held in 2001 in Beijing, the exhibition is expected to reflect the colorful social life of the modern times and spectacular natural scenery from a broader perspective as well as the new look of exploration and research on the oil painting language through diverse artistic techniques.
The exhibition is hoped to encourage more and more oil painters to be devoted to the creation of small-scale oil paintings. The small-scale painting boasts the simple and impromptu feature as an impetus to conquer the artists themselves.
