An oil painting exhibition by Yuli Kaliuta is currently on view at Hall since June 16 until July 4, 2010, comprising a total of more than 50 oil paintings.
Yuli Kaliuta is a well-known Russian modern artist. Born in Ukraine in 1957, he was graduated from Odessa Kolekov Art School in 1973 and then started to study in Soviet Union Leningrad Repin Academy of Fine Arts in 1983 from Melnikov, a renowned artist. In 1989, Yuli Kaliuta continued his post-graduate study and started his teaching career in Repin Academy of Fine Arts.
The artist was rewarded Medal of the Soviet Academy of Fine Arts. Milisa won gold prize in The First International Biennial Exhibition held in Beijing in 2002. Yuli Kaliut is now professor in Russian Repin Academy of Fine Arts and honored as Russian Meritorious Artist. He is famous for his free and natural artistic style.
His works have been collected by national museums and individuals from Russia, China, America, Finland, Germany, UK and many other countries.
Yuli Kaliut is keen on China s profound and ancient traditional culture and is skilled in adopting the essence of various cultures and arts. His achievements receive high premium in China s artistic circle. He has almost participated in the exhibitions in China since 1997.
