An exhibition of Pedro Meyer s photographic collection from the National Art Museum of China is currently on display at Hall 19, 20 and 21 since June 4 until June 17, 2010. The exhibition comprises a total of 110 photos by Pedro Meyer, representing his masterpieces in different periods and helping the visitors understand his personal artistic style, remarkable achievements and the influences to the modern photography in Mexico.
Pedro Meyer, born in a Jewish family in 1935 in Spain, immigrated to Mexico with his parents and joined in the Mexico nationality in1938. He started to learn photography at the age of 11 and published the first photographic work at 15. After completing university education in the United States, he went back to Mexico. Through devotion and dedication to the photographic art over the past five decades, Mr. Pedro has become one of the most representative photographers in the modern photography. His works reflect his unique perspective and numerous changes, covering a wide range from the social documentary photography to the digital art photography.
In October, 2008, Pedro Meyer held a photographic exhibition entitled Difference at the National Art Museum of China and donated more than 100 works to the museum.
