This year marks the 30th anniversary of the founding of Chengdu Art Academy. An exhibition entitled Resolution and exploration is currently on display to showcase a total of 116 paintings and multi-media devices by 25 artists of different generations. It is the first time that the artistic institutions from the western area have hosted an exhibition in Beijing since the May 12 earthquake in 2008.
In the past three decades, Chengdu Art Academy has trained a number of prestigious artistic talents at home and abroad and created a lot of influential artworks. The works of five artists including He Duoling, Zhou Chunya, Yuan Jizhong, Zhu Peijun and Li Qingke have been included in the section of oil paintings, the traditional Chinese painting and the printmaking in Collection of Contemporary Chinese Art.
Chengdu Art Academy has a number of representatives in the field of the art. for example, Zhu Peijun, Shen Daohong, Li Qingke and Ye Ruikun in the traditional Chinese painting, He Duoling and Zhou Chunya in the oil painting, and Yuan Jizhong in the printmaking. The academy is taking on a new look through attracting such new members as Cai Yinkun, Xiang Yang, Tu Hongtao and Chen Qiulin.
The exhibition is opened at Hall 13, 14, 15, 16 and 17 until Nov. 14.
