TISCO New 1.5 Million tons Stainless Steel Project Won National High Quality Gold Medal(picture)(29649)

On the morning of December 29^th, commendation meeting for strengthening the quality management of engineering safety and establishing national high quality projects was held in Beijing. TISCO New 1.5 Million tons Stainless Steel Project won National High Quality Gold Medal of 2009. This was a new award for TISCO New 1.5 Million tons Stainless Steel Project after it was awarded the One Hundred Classical and Excellent Projects in the 60th anniversary of the founding of new China, and Lu Ban Award for stainless steel making project. TISCO New 1.5 Million tons Stainless Steel Project is the only project which won National High Quality Golden Medal in metallurgical industry this year, and also the first National High Quality Golden Medal in the history of Shanxi Province. TISCO is the second company that won National High Quality Golden Medal after Baosteel in metallurgical industry. The General Manager Liu Fuxing of Shanxi Taigang Stainless Steel Company accepted the award on the stage and gave a speech on behalf of the award winners.

National High Quality Project Award is one part of High Quality Products Award of People's Republic of China (hereinafter referred to as National Quality Award), is the highest honor for engineering construction quality. Established in 1981, National Engineering Construction Quality Award is a national level quality award which is the first for establishment and the strictest for specification requirements in engineering construction industry. From 1981 to 2008, altogether 1015 projects won High Quality Projects Award, among it, only 42 won gold medals, 973 silver medals.

National High Quality Project of 2009 is based on the declaration of numerous construction enterprise (units), and recommendation by related associations, after the first trail by national engineering construction quality award Review and Approval Committee Office, reexamination by experts on site, appraisal by Review and Approval Committee and publicity by media, finally five projects including TISCO New 1.5 Million tons Stainless Steel PProject won National High Quality Project Gold Medals of 2009, and 146 projects including Ji(Yuan) Jiao(Zuo) Xin(Xiang) Expressway Project from Jiyuan to Jiaozuo won National High Quality Project ilver medal of 2009.

TISCO new 1.5 million tons stainless steel project is not only a national key technical project which implements state adjustment of product structure, meets the demands of domestic and international markets, and enhances international competitiveness of our country s stainless steel industry, but also the world's largest stainless steel production project. The project was approved by the national development and reform committee in 2004, and put into production in June 6^th, 2007. At the beginning of construction, TISCO set up a Quality Philosophy "The quality is enterprise's character, quality is enterprise's personality"; established a Quality Target "Build incomparable excellent projects, won national high quality project golden medal", and made a specific clear excellence-creating plan. During the project construction, with a series of measures such as project management system innovation; perfect quality management system and clear quality management responsibility; strict quality control procedures and strengthened process management; vigorously develop technical innovation, etc., TISCO achieved a good effect. Qualification ratio for unit project is 100%, good rate of unit project is 95.59%, and all these reached national advanced level for the same type engineering constructions. This project has obtain 7 industry and national excellent survey and design awards, 8 industry high quality and customer satisfaction project awards, more than 20 QC achievement award, and 1 metallurgical enterprises management modernization innovation achievement Award .

TISCO New 1.5 million tons of steel Project putting into production, made TISCO realized the great-leap-forward development. In 2007, "Taigang" stainless steel products won honorary title of national high quality product. Many products filled the domestic blank, with great economic, social and environmental benefits. At present, "Taigang" stainless steel products has been widely applied in national defense, building, home appliances, automobiles, trains, aerospace, coinage, etc.

With this award TISCO new 1.5 million tons stainless steel project become the only project in China's construction history which won three national highest awards successively, and realized the target-to build a unparalleled project-established in the beginning of the project. The award is not only a great inspiration and encouragement to the entire TISCO project construction, but a positive promotion to build the project under construction to a excellent project.
