Secretary Zhou extended his gratitude to the SAIC for its support to Hunan's economic and social development, especially in the area of industry and commerce. Over the period of the Eleventh Five-Year Plan (2006-2010), the province's departments of industry & commerce gave full play to their administrative management, contributed towards scientific development, strengthened supervision over the market, and sped up the cultivation of professional teams, making important contributions to Hunan's sound and rapid economic and social development.

Faced with many great opportunities, Hunan will make better use of its advantages in geography, education, techniques, talents, etc. , and focus on tackling the bottleneck problems restricting development during the period of the Twelfth Five-Year Plan (2011-2015). Therefore, he expected the SAIC to back up Hunan as always.

He is excited to see Hunan's promotion of new-type industrialization, new-type urbanization, agricultural modernization and informatization and the building of the "Two-oriented" Society (resources-conserving and environmentally-friendly society), and its endeavor of accelerating the scientific development, invigorating the province and enriching the people. The SAIC will give supports to Hunan in such areas as the reform of state-owned enterprises, development of private economy, trademark services, and the safeguarding of consumers' rights.
