Changsha Wangling Park to Restore Royal Mausoleum of Western Han Dynasty
The first phase of Wangling Park protection and improvement project will be involved in the management plan for the government-invested projects in 2011, as released from the expert examination committee for reviewing Wangling Park s eligibility as a landmark of Changsha City

Changsha Wangling Park is to restore the royal mausoleum of the Western Han Dynasty (206 BC - 24 AD), according to the park s administrative office.

According to the detailed site plan of Changsha Wangling Park compiled by Changsha Architecture Design Institute, a general layout of one axis, one line and two zones will come into being. One axis refers to the pedestrian landscape extending from Xiangbizui (elephant trunk) Hill to Shanxing (fan shaped) Hill; one line is the footpath around the park; and the two zones refer to a historical site conservation zone and an eco-culture recreation zone respectively.

Emphasis of the historical site conservation zone will be given to the restoration of the Xiangbizui No.1 Tomb and the lord s garden of the Han Dynasty.

With the restored tomb as the core and supplemented by the garden and the Huanbi Cabinet (a showroom), the historical site conservation zone is dedicated to demonstrate the historical and cultural glamour of Changsha Prefecture in the Western Han Dynasty.
