President Xiong Conducts Survey at International Cooperation and Exchange Office

On March 8, President Xiong Shuxin and Vice President Yin Hong conducted a survey on international cooperation and education internationalization at the International Cooperation and Exchange Office. At the meeting, Deputy Director of the International Cooperation and Exchange Office, Li Dingxin delivered a detailed report on general work of the office, joint education programs with foreign institutions, foreign teachers, foreign students, marketing and website and teacher s training; he also reported to the president on the current problems and future development plans.

After listening to the reports, President Xiong remarks highly on the work of the Office, and gives suggestions on the internationalization of education. President Xiong points out that with the historical trend of globalization, universities which first achieve international talent training standard, will come to seize the opportunity. For our school, in the time of twelfth Five-Year Plan," the internationalization of the education will be the core competitiveness and every departments should understand the importance of it. President Xiong said that after 60 years of development, YUFE has entered a stage of connotative development, so we have to attach importance to the scale as well as quality. Finally, President Xiong gave clear and specific requirements on international cooperation projects, foreign students, oversea Chinese teaching, and teacher s training. He said that the university will coordinate school resources to solve the problems, and he hope the staff of international cooperation and exchange office sum up experience, carry out innovation, undertake 18 special programs listed in the Development Plan of Internationalization, and promote international education to a higher level.
