On April 23, a contract of supply of 50 double-deck coaches was dealt with RAJA, Iran. CNR Changchun Railway Vehicle Co., Ltd. won the bid in the competition with Korea and Italy companies.
The running condition is quite difficulty because the railway line is located in desert and wind area. The new-trains will be formed of 10 first class air-conditioning coaches, 1 dinner car and 1 powered van with the standard gauge. The max speed is 160 km/h. The coaches feature Siemens SF400 bogies, KNORR Electro-pneumatic system, air plane chair and UIC standard Power/Electronic Products .
The deliveries are scheduled for 26-28 months after the contract come into force.
