CNR Dalian was awarded a bid recently. They will supply 138 metro cars with stainless steel body for Line 2 of Tianjin Subways.
The trains will be formed of 3 motor cars and 3 trailers. The seating capacity is 1,440 and overload capacity is 1,832. The headway is 2 minutes. Delivery of the first train is scheduled for the beginning of 2010 and to be finished before July 2011.
In recent years, CNR Dalian Locomotive & Rolling Stock Co., Ltd. has invested RMB 200 million to build a bases which are able to manufacture 200 urban vehicles with stainless steel car-body per year. Since 2002, CNR Dalian has got contracts of 36 train-sets for Dalian and 36 metro cars for Shenyang.
