At 8:30pm this Saturday, Earth Hour will sweep around the globe as people switch off their lights and celebrate a worldwide commitment to protect our planet. It is a most significant global event, asking households and businesses to turn off their non-essential lights and other electrical appliances for one hour to raise awareness towards the need to take action on climate change. This year, when the lights go back on,people from around the world are encouraged to think about what we can do beyond the hour to contribute to a more sustainable future.
