CSR Selected in Hang Seng AH Index Series

A recent investigation of Hang Seng Index Co., Ltd. showed that CSR 601766 1766.HK has been selected as constituent stock of Hang Seng AH Index series, which took effective on March 9.According to the statistics of Hang Seng Index Co., Ltd., the transmissibility coefficiencies of CSR A share and H share are 35% and 90% respectively as well as premium index 0.86.

The constituent stock of Hang Seng AH Index series includes those mainland A and H share-listed companies which own the largest market value and most active bargain. There are Hang Seng AH Premium Index, Hang Seng AH Stock A+H Index, Hang Seng AH Stock A Share Index and Hang Seng AH Stock H Share Index in Hang Seng AH Index series.

Such series index aims to track the difference of stock prices between A and H shares of the same company as well as the tendency of all sorts of stocks. CSR newly entered the list in adjustment this time by replacing another existed company, maintaining the number of constituent stock companies as 42 still.

CSR successively got listed in A and H share markets on Aug. 18 and 21, 2008, with the issuing scales of 3 billion and 1.6 billion shares respectively. Before the financial crisis, CSR has raised a fund of 10.3 billion RMB for future development and has earned extensive reorganization and reputation from international capital market and investors since its listing.

In 2008, CSR rose 61.9% against the overall disadvantage trend, which enabled it to become the IPO king of Hong Kong that year. Meanwhile, a rise of 97.7% was also seen in A share, CSR therefore built a bright image of state-owned enterprise in capital market. In addition, CSR conforms to other conditions for entering the index.

The establishment of two financing platforms inside and outside mainland China marks the significant breakthrough on property right institution of CSR. Being a public company engaging into both domestic and international capital markets lays a solid foundation for CSR to provide better services to the railway construction and grow into the Top Three of international railway transport industry.
