CSR Mass-produce Locomotives to Guarantee Railway Carrying Capacity for Quake Relief

The whole nation gets involved in the earthquake relief work, every industry shoulders their own responsibility. The railway industry bears more and more tasks such as transferring of the injured and the quake-afflicted people, and mass transportation of daily necessities and reconstruction materials. China South Locomotive & Rolling Stock Corporation Limited CSR, the largest rail transportation equipment company in China, is speeding up producing all types of railway vehicles to prepare adequate rail transportation equipments for the earthquake relief work.

It s reported that CSR is accelerating the research and production of subway vehicles for Chengdu and will deliver the vehicles at the end of this year as scheduled. The manufacturer, CSR Sifang Locomotive and Rolling Stock Co., Ltd. promise it would put love and heart into producing the vehicles elaborately, and contribute for the economic recovery and home reconstruction for the quake-afflicted people with good quality, integrity and better after-sales service.

In face of large-scale assembly and mobilization of locomotives for quake relief, CSR solemnly declared they would not influence the railway transportation and economic development in the earthquake-hit areas due to the production of railway equipments. The company was busy in quake relief work and at the same time in production, starting a production upsurge on speeding up production, supporting reconstruction, guaranteeing transportation and promoting Olympics.

Meanwhile, CSR launched product quality inspection activities to ensure traffic safety in railway transportation in particular for quake relief work.

In CSR Changjiang Yangtze Rolling Stock Co., Ltd., the largest railway wagon production base in Asia, the most advanced C70-heavy freight wagon in China, C80-heavy wagon special for coal transportation on Datong-Qinhuangdao Railway and other types of wagons are off the assembly line continuously and put into operation.

General Manager of the company Cao Yang said, We are accelerating the construction progress and also well coordinating the production; we make requirements for ourselves to finish half of the task within half of the fixed time at the end of June, which presents our actual performance to support quake relief work and reconstruction of quake-stricken areas.

CSR Nanjing Puzhen Rolling Stock Co.,Ltd,CSR Sifang Locomotive and Rolling Stock Co., Ltd., CSR Chengdu Locomotive and Rolling Co., Ltd. and other passenger coaches production and maintenance companies have also accelerated the production process.

As the starting of summer peaks of power coal transportation, the largest electric locomotive manufacturing base in China-CSR Zhuzhou Electric Locomotive Co., Ltd. becomes very busy. The company has now delivered 120 Harmony-1 type high power AC electric locomotives with international advanced level to Datong-Qinhuangdao Railway, and still all the staff are trying their best to guarantee the quality and speed up the production process. Harmony-1 type locomotive played an important role in the transportation of power coal for the southern snow-hit areas at the beginning of this year.

In addition, there are a number of products of CSR which will play an important part in the city traffic and transport as well as auxiliary projects in Beijing during the Olympics. Among them, the conspicuous multiple units MU with the speed of 300 kilometers and over per hour will be put into operation in the Beijing-Tianjin inter-city railway, six of which have been delivered so far. Beijing-Badaling DMU has entered the stage of assembly.

The vehicle production project of Beijing Subway Line One and Line Four undertaken by CSR is under way as scheduled, and 12 subway vehicles with 72 carriages for Subway Line One have been completed. All the staff in CSR Times Electric Motor Company is working overtime to produce electric transmission, ground charger and battery management system of electric automobile for the Olympic Games. It s reported that all the electric automobiles for the Olympic Games have adopted the above components of the company.
