A Ground-breaking Ceremony for Oran Stadium Project was held in Algeria recently. Governmental officials of Algeria and relevant heads of MCC were present at the ceremony. The attendees include: President Abdelaziz Bouteflika of the Democratic People's Republic of Algeria; Algerian government officials from Ministry of National Defense, Ministry of Housing, Oran Provincial Government and Municipal Government; Wang Xiufeng, Vice President of MCC Limited; Wei Huawen, Vice Chairman & Vice Party Secretary of MCC Jingtang Construction Corp., Ltd. (MCC Jingtang); Liu Yuzheng, Director-General for International Affairs of MCC Group; Shen Baosheng, Director-General of Algeria Office of MCC Group; and Zhu Mingchun, Manager of MCC Jingtang (Algeria) Co., Ltd.
The Oran Stadium is so far the largest project undertaken by MCC Jingtang in Africa. The RMB 1.004 billion yuan worth project started in the end of 2008, and is expected to be completed by May 2011. After completion, it will be one of the largest stadiums in Algeria, capable to home 40,000 audiences.
The commencement of Oran Stadium Project marks the starting of a new journey of MCC Jingtang in African market. Over the past years, MCC Jingtang has been taking creative endeavors to expand its overseas business. Despite the shrinking global and domestic market due to the current prevailing financial crisis, MCC Jingtang, however, still find many opportunities in Africa, especially the northern countries like Algeria. Up to now, the company has bagged 7 contracts in the country, with a total contract value of nearly US$200 million.
