Recently the Design Center of Shanghai Baoye Construction Corp., Ltd. (SBC-MCC) has been actively organizing talent forces for preparation work in relation to the bidding for Belgium Pavilion in Shanghai Expo Venue.
As one of the temporary theme exhibition venues of Shanghai World Expo 2010, the abovementioned Pavilion is to be invested by the Belgian Government and utilized as a showcase of the cultural geography and advanced scientific technologies of Belgium. Now Buro Happold Ltd., a world class multidisciplinary engineering consultancy in UK, started to work with SBC-MCC and Philippe SAMYN and Partners sprl to prepare for the bidding work of this project. For this purpose, the designers of the foreign partners paid a visit to the Design Center of SBC-MCC for technical and business exchange. During their stay in China, the foreign designers have made briefings on the design concept and preliminary sketch of the pavilion. Meanwhile, the Chinese designers of SBC-MCC in various fields had in-depth exchanges and discussions on the design standards for architecture, structure, water supply and drainage, heating and air-conditioning, electric installation and decoration. The Chinese partner also put forward quite a few recommendations for the optimization of the architectural design made by the foreign designers, and made necessary preparation for the follow-up bidding work.
