The Dutch Pavilion Starts Piling in Shanghai Expo Venue

The Dutch Pavilion, which was a part of Shanghai World Expo 2010 and contracted by Shanghai Baoye Construction Corp., Ltd. (SBC-MCC), started the pilling works on February 18, 2009. Representatives of relevant parties of the project attended the commencement ceremony, including the heads of the Agency of International Business and Cooperation of Holland (EVD, the Employer), Architectural Design and Research Institute of Tongji University (the Designer), China Shanghai (Group) Corporation For Foreign Economic & Technological Cooperation (SFECO, the Project Management Company), Shanghai SFECO INTL Engineering Consultation (SFECO J.L., the Supervisor) and SBC-MCC, the general contractor.
The Dutch Pavilion is located in the north of C Zone of the venue, covering a total floorage area of 3,194 m2. The pavilion consists of a footpath rising in a spiral, 26 buildings and a Z-shaped structure (Water Station). This pavilion is a combination of two sections, i.e. the main bridge and the exhibition room.
The theme of Dutch Pavilion is "Happy Street". SBC-MCC will spare no effort to make it a top quality showcase of the theme, and endeavor to make contribution to a successful world famous event.
