General Manager Luo Shu of MCC Ramu delivers opening remarks at the conference
Representatives of MRA and relevant PNG governmental departments present at the meeting
A working conference was convened between MCC Ramu NiCo Limited (MCC Ramu) and relevant PNG officials in Port Moresby, the Capital of Papau New Guinea on September 21, 2009. The purpose of the meeting is to enhance communications with competent authorities of PNG government and thus consolidate the foundation for project implementation and operation. The conference was presided over by Mineral Resources Authority (MRA). Over 50 representatives from various governmental departments, the Central Bank, Madang Provincial Government and landlords in the project region attended the meeting.
General Manager Luo Shu of MCC Ramu delivered opening remarks at the conference and gave a briefing on the development history of MCC Ramu. She pointed out that the contracted project was of great significance for PNG s development, which had already brought about positive changes to the nation. Luo also expected to continue to receive concern and support from various stakeholders during the critical transition period from project construction to operation. A newly-shot promotional video for the project was screened, providing an overall introduction and presentation on the project history, current progress and implementation scheme of the works. Representatives of MRA and the other governmental institutions cheered up on the remarkable progress and achievements made by MCC Ramu. They promised to extend as always utmost support to the project implementation and create perfect environment for the investors. Afterwards both parties conducted in-depth and meticulous discussion on the project implementation and operation as well as the issues of common interest. They also agreed upon the relevant business processes and the follow-up working plan. Executive Vice General Manager Gu Yuxiang, Vice General Manager Pan Hengli, Chief Technology Officer Wang Chun and relevant staff of General Manager s Office of MCC Ramu and Port Moresby were also present at the meeting.
