On September 11, 2009, experts from Central Environmental Authority (CEA) of Sri Lanka undertook tests on production environment and noises for CKE Project.
Chief Engineer Zhang Qi for CKE Project and Director Cui Songming of Quality Department made a brief introduction to the installation and commissioning works for the mixing plant as well as the measures taken for environment protection. Accompanied by the representative of the Employer (RDA) and staff of CKE Project Division, CEA experts made inquiries on the whole production process in relation to the control room, batch feeder, measurement and mixing operation. Particularly, they carried out inspection on the treatment methods for the sewage and waste materials in the mixing plant.
Mr. Ajith Samansiri and Mr. N. Priyantha from CEA conducted inspection on the production environment of the mixing plant. Mrs. Hiranthi Jansz and Mr. W. V. Wickramasingha made a 24-hour test on the noise baseline data in the main sites for production. As a result, the CEA officials gave full recognition on the controlling measures for treatment of sewage and waste materials (by means of precipitation and recycling process) and control on dust (through coverage and watering on regular basis). CEA officials also put a premium on the overall environment of the encampment.
As CKE Project has passed through the inspection, CEA will issue the manufacturing license for the environment of the mixing plant, and after that, the project facilities will be formally put into operation.
