An Unveiling Ceremony for Design of Indian Pavilion for 2010 World Expo was held by Consulate General of India in Shanghai on April 27, 2009. The major attendees of the event included Dr. Sheela Bhide, Chairperson & Managing Director of India Trade Promotion Organization and Indian Commissioner General, and Hua Junduo, China s Commissioner General for Shanghai Expo. The distinguished guests unveiled the secrete mask of the Indian Pavilion. Upon invitation, Vice General Manager Lu Yijie of China Jingye Engineering Construction Contraction Corp. (CJYC) was also present at the ceremony. During the event, Lu held exchanges on a deep and wide basis with the representatives of India. As the EPC Contractor of Indian Pavilion, CJYC will be responsible for completion of this splendid unique featured architecture within 10 months, which will add a charming scene to the Expo Venues.
On account of the outstanding professional competent and well-deserved reputation, CJYC was rated in 2007 as one of the 16 EPC Contracting Service Providers by the Host of Shanghai World Expo. Since the commencement of preparation work for the World Expo, CJYC has participated quite a few projects such as the steel structure works for the gate of the Expo Venue, the overhead footpath surrounding the Chinese Pavilion and the steel structure works for exhibition hall of SAIC-GM Automobile. And EPC works of Indian Pavilion is another major contract bagged by CJYC for Shanghai World Expo.
The pavilion covers 4,000 square meters and its building materials consist of massive bamboo. The main dome structure of the pavilion will be used as a 360-degree screen to tell different stories about life in cities through the ages. The pavilion features India's rich religious culture, languages, traditional and modern technologies and combination of urban and rural life. The Indian representatives gave a full recognition on the technical strength of CJYC, and put a premium on the services and technical support extended by CJYC for the Indian Pavilion.
As the one-year countdown has begun for the Expo , all the national pavilions have been put into full construction. With the marvelous achievements made in the past time, CJYC now is engaged in biddings for several national pavilions. By means of participation in these works, CJYC will make further enhancement of scientific and research level, as well as expansion of the business scope and intensification of the corporate brand promotion.
