A grand commissioning ceremony was held for the new blast furnace of Lianyuan Iron & Steel Group Co., Ltd., which was contracted by WISDRI Engineering & Research Incorporation Ltd. (WISDRI) on an EPC basis. The ceremony was presided over by Vice President Wang Qingzhu of Lianyuan Steel Works. General Manager Xiao Bai and Vice General Manager Pan Guoyou of WISDRI, as well as the heads of the concerned parties, were present at the event. President Zheng Baiping, Manager Zeng Feijun of the 2nd Smelting Plant and Project Manager Wu Jiepeng for the New Blast Furnace of Lianyuan Steel Works, and General Manager Xiao Bai of WISDRI delivered speeches at the ceremony.
As the EPC Contractor for the project, General Manager Xiao Bai pointed out that, the smooth commissioning of the blast furnace was an achievement jointly made by the Employer, the EPC Contractor, the construction and supervision enterprises. Basing upon the sincere service concept, the strong passion for work, the practical work attitude and the powerful technical strength, WISDRI would continue to make more contribution to the sustainable development, the technical advancement and the structure optimization of Lianyuan Steel Works in the future.
This facility is the largest blast furnace ever built up in Lianyuan Steel Works and even in Hunan Province. As one of the eleven key works under the 11th-Five-Year Plan of Lianyuan Steel Works, this project was contracted by WISDRI on an EPC basis, with an annual design output capacity of 2.6 million tons. And the overall completion of these projects will be of great significance for Lianyuan Steel Works in terms of technical advancement, optimization of product mix, reduction of production costs and enhancement of market competitiveness.
