UK Guests Visits CISDI

A mission from UK visited CISDI Engineering Co., Ltd. (CISDI) on March 10, 2009. The visiting delegation consisted of Professor Phillips Jones, President of Welsh School of Architecture from Cardiff University; Mr. Gary Davies, Head of the European and External Affairs Division (EEAD) of Welsh Assembly Government; and Ms. Qingyun Ma, Wales Affairs Officer of British Consulate General Chongqing. Deputy General Manager Liao Xiangrong of CISDI, Director Wang Yong for Technical Development and Deputy Dean Xu Ge of CISDI Architecture Design Institute for Municipal Engineering met with the guests.
Upon invitation by CISDI Architecture Technology Sub-center for Municipal Engineering, Professor Phillips Jones has been acting as one of the specialists of the Technology Committee under the Research Center for Human Settlement Environment Engineering of Chongqing City, which was applied for establishment by the Sub-center. During this visit, Professor Phillips Jones was to provide technical consulting service for CISDI in the fields of green and energy-saving architecture.
The delegates visited the Display Room and R&D Center of CISDI. As one of the scientific demonstration projects on effective energy-saving architecture, which was encouraged by Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, the green technologies developed by CISDI attract keen interest from Professor Phillips Jones. He made a detailed inquiry on the application of low energy-consumption architectural technologies, for instance, the ground source heat pump and external shading of the buildings. Furthermore, the Professor held a technical exchange meeting with the staff of R&D center for over two hours.
Professor Phillips Jones deemed it as a great honor to be engaged as the member of the Technology Committee under the Research Center for Human Settlement Environment Engineering of Chongqing City. He gave a full recognition to the great efforts and achievements made by CISDI in respect of ecological architectural technologies, livable environment architectural technologies and the research on renewable sources of energy. The Professor also hoped that both parties could undertake cooperation on a wider basis in this field.
