The Brazil Pavilion, which was contracted by Shanghai Baoye Construction Corp., Ltd. (SBC-MCC) for the World Expo 2010, was completed and put into service recently in Shanghai. It is the largest pavilion for rent in the Expo Venue, covering a land area of 2,000 square meters. Decoration and exhibition layout work will be started very soon.
At the Hand-over Ceremony for Brazil Pavilion, Alessandro Teixeira, chairman of the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency and commissioner-general of Brazil for the Expo, and Zhang Yunjie, Special Assistant to Director-General of Bureau from Shanghai World Expo Coordination, signed the hand-over agreement. Mr. Marcos Caramuru de Paiva, Consul General of Brazil in Shanghai was also present at the event.
With the theme "Pulsing Cities: Feel the Life of Brazilian Cities", the pavilion will show off the cultural diversity of Brazilian cities, their dynamism and the vigorously growing local economy. In addition, it will highlight the various achievements made by Brazilian people in sustainable development, for instance, the advanced exploration of renewable sources of energy, and the establishment of new-type city of inclusivity. And of course, football culture will be another highlight in the exhibition.
