Changtian International Engineering Corporation of MCC (CIE) signed an EPC contract with Yuxi Dahongshan Mining Co., Ltd. of Kunming Iron & Steel Group on August 30, 2009. This is a new deal following the EPC contract for the Concentration System under the 2nd Phase of Baima Iron Mine Project, which was inked on July 19, 2009. According to the newly awarded contract, concentration work shall be undertaken for the copper ore and lava iron ore under the Expansion Project of Dahongshan Iron Mine. It is reported that the designed annual output capacities of the lava iron ore and the copper ore are rated at 3.8 million tons and 1.5 million tons, and the two works will be completed in October 2010 and February 2011 respectively.
As a super large underground metallurgical mine constructed by Kunming Iron & Steel Group, Dahongshan Iron Mine has been established into a major base of raw iron ore of the Group. Under the 1st Project, CIE carried out design task for a concentration plant with a production capability of 4 million tons per annum. The 1st Project was completed and successfully commissioned on December 28, 2006, and has been proved to be of perfect operational performance during the past years. Up to now, the annual treatment volume of the original mine has exceeded the designed capacity. And the plant has been playing an essential role in the production and development of Kunming Iron & Steel Group. As a matter of fact, the marvelous collaboration under the 1st Project has laid a consolidated foundation for the cooperation under the new EPC concentration contract.
In the concentration system of the Expansion Project of Dahongshan Iron Mine, the largest semi-autogenous mill and ball crusher will be employed, which are featured by advanced technology in terms of equipment level and electric automatic control process. CIE will, as always, present a quality works to the Employer by adhering to its business motto of meticulous design and scientific management.
