Specially invited lectures for the celebration of the 60th Anniversary of DICP have been continued to be delivered at DICP recently. On 14th May, 3 scholars from the Queen's University Belfast, UK, were invited to give lectures at the lecture-venue of the State Key Laboratory of Catalysis. The invited UK guests were Prof.
Robbie Burch, Prof. Christopher Hardacre and Dr. David Rooney, and their respective lecture topics were "Introduction to Catalysis Research in Queen's University Belfast", "Gold and Supported Ionic Liquid Phase Catalysts for Bulk and Fine Chemical Production" and "Understanding Liquid Phase Dehydrogenation Reactions".
The lecturing sessions were chaired by Prof. LI Can, Vice-Director of DICP and Member of CAS. Relevant DICP scientists and graduate students attended the lectures. After their presentations, Prof. LI Can, on behalf of DICP, bestowed Lecturing Certificates in Cerebrating the 60th Anniversary of DICP on the British guests.
The UK scholars were also invited to visit some of the DICP laboratories, including the State Key Laboratory of Catalysis, the Fine Chemicals Laboratory, the Modern Chemical Engineering Laboratory, the Fuel Cell Laboratory and the Space Catalysis and New Materials Laboratory. It was expected that the academic exchange between the scientists of DICP and Queen's University Belfast will promote mutual contacts in the areas of heterogeneous catalysis, catalytic engineering, surface chemistry, computational catalytic chemistry, etc.
