With the Flight KE9819 landing in Changsha Huanghua International Airport on Nov. 17, the number of passengers entering and departing Hunan hit 500,000, 44 days ahead of the expected date.
There are over ten regular and charter flights opened in Changsha, flying directly from the city to Hong Kong, Taipei, South Korea, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia and Japan, which are run by more than ten airlines both from home and abroad, according to the official from Changsha Frontier Inspection Station.
26.6% of the 500,000 people crossing the border are from Mainland China, 8.3% from Hong Kong and Macao, 20.6% from Taiwan and the rest from foreign countries.
Among visitors outside mainland China, Taiwan travelers soared to 20% while visitors from South Korea are in the majority, accounting for 40%, followed successively by visitors from the USA, Malaysia, Thailand and Australia.
