Changsha to Promote New Mediation System

The People's Mediation Law will be put into force officially in Changsha from January 1 of 2011, as released from the Working Conference on Learning the People's Mediation Law of the People's Republic of China .

The conference released that Changsha City will popularize the "10+1" mediation system of Chunkou Town, Liuyang City, i.e. every 10 families recommend or engage a mediator or dispute collector, letting mediation go into every house.

The conference also stressed that it is of great significance to strengthen the mediation in enterprises and state-owned institutions, vigorously establish and perfect the people's mediation organizations in labor-intensive enterprises, large-scale enterprises and institutions and the restructured enterprises, set up people's mediation committees among social groups and other organizations, build mediation agencies in such trades as medical care and estate management and in such areas as large trade markets, floating population communities and tourist sites so as to settle region-specific, industry-specific and profession-specific disputes.
