The local popular Changsha Aiyue Symphony Orchestra (Philharmonic Orchestra)played the "Prelude of Spring", a symphony based on north Shaanxi folk song and mixed with Yangko (a popular rural folk song in northeast China) as the opening of the 2011 Lantern Festival Party.
Themed with "Happy Changsha and Joyous New Year", the party was organized by the CPC Changsha Municipal Committee and the Changsha Municipal People's Government Feb.15, eve of the festival. Chen Run'er, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and secretary of the CPC Changsha Municipal Committee, together with several hundred others from grass roots attended the concert.
A Changsha citizen expressed his satisfaction in the surprising and pleasant symphony concert as a present for the festival.
