Jing Junhai Attends the Activity of Shaanxi Province to Commemorate the International Museum Day

On the morning of May 18, the activity to commemorate the International Museum Day and the opening ceremony of the new Stone Carving Art Hall of Xi an Beilin Museum were held at Xi an Beilin Museum. On that day, the stone carving art show themed on Chang an Buddha Charms was opened to visitors. Vice Governor Jing Junhai attended the event and lifted the curtain for the art hall. Jing Junhai also emphasized that museums of the province shall make new contributions to promotion of construction of a harmonious society and development of tourism and culture industries.

Jing Junhai indicated that the museum industry of Shaanxi Province has developed rapidly. The number of museums is large, the level is high and the number of collections is large, ranking the first place in the country. The Museum of the Terra-cotta Warriors and Horses of Qin Shihuang, Shaanxi History Museum and Shaanxi Beilin Museum all enjoyed great reputation home and abroad.

Jing Junhai required that museums of the province could improve the construction and service level of the museum, and provide more and better cultural products with special characteristics. After that, Jing Junhai came to Shaanxi History Museum to check the promotional activity of the International Museum Day, and inquired the tourists from other places.

He asked the working personnel to open a convenient channel to bring conveniences to the tourists from other provinces or countries who visit the museum.

This year is the 34th International Museum Day. Cultural museum units of our province have organized various forms of activities. All cities and counties opened the newly-constructed museums and exhibition rooms. Xi an Museum Hall and Fujian Museum Hall jointly organized the Exhibition of Excellent Works of Calligraphers and Painters from Fujian Collected by Fujian Museum Hall .

Yan an Memorial Hall of Revolution promoted the spirits of Yan an through lecture, sing and dance . The Museum of the Terra-cotta Warriors and Horses of Qin Shihuang and Changchun Museum of Imperial Palace of Manchu State jointly organized the exhibition titled From Emperor to Citizen Life of Aisin-Gioro Puyi.
