Marriage Certificate
No doubt that it would be romantic to apply for the marriage registration on February 14th the Valentine's Day. Couples ready for a marriage on this special day may be disappointed this year, as the marriage registry will offer no service.
As the staff from the marriage registry of the Municipal Civil Affairs Bureau introduce, marriage registration services will be provide for residents in Guancheng, Dongcheng, Nancheng and Wanjiang on Saturdays and certain Chinese public holidays such as the New Year's Day, Spring Festival, Tomb-sweeping Day, Labor Day, Dragon Boat Festival, National Day and Mid-Autumn Day. February 14th of 2010 falls on Sunday and is not a public holiday in China, but residents can still apply for marriage registration on the eve of the Lunar New Year, i.e. February 13 of 2010.
