A grand opening ceremony was held for the 2009 Symposium on International Livable Cities and Ecological Building Technology in Chongqing on October 22, 2009. This seminar was hosted by MCC Limited and organized by CISDI Engineering Co., Ltd. (CISDI). Officials and distinguished guests present at the event included: Vice Mayor Ling Yueming of Chongqing Municipal Government; Vice President Wang Xiufeng of MCC Limited; General Manager Yu Zhaohui of CISDI; Vice Chairman Jian Yaochong of AECOM Group in China; Global Managing Director Corinne Boone of Hatch Group; and relevant heads and distinguished guests from the Chongqing Municipal Construction Committee, Chongqing Municipal Scientific and Technological Committee, Cardiff University of UK and European Intelligent Building Group (EIBG).
Over 30 senior heads, renowned experts and scholars from domestic and international research institutes, scientific research institutions, R&D centers of transnational corporations and Top 500 global giants, as well as over 100 research fellows of various fields, participated in the symposium. During the meeting, the participants also visited the 2009 International Advanced Ecological Techniques Exhibition presented by CISDI.
The 2009 Symposium on International Livable Cities and Ecological Building Technology was held from October 22-24, 2009, which was mainly focused upon: (i) technical issues on construction of livable cities, development of low-carbon economy and green ecological buildings; (ii) view exchanges on successful experiences in terms of livable construction and green ecological buildings, as well as application and development of renewable energy sources; and (iii) sessions on new high-tech, products and sustainable development concept in the fields of energy-conservation and emission-reduction. Within the symposium, three forums were organized, namely, the Forum on Human Settlement Construction in Domestic and Foreign Cities, the Forum on Comprehensive Technologies for Green Ecological Buildings and the Forum on Low-carbon Economy & Construction Technologies. In addition, the participants were invited to visit relevant demonstration projects of low energy-consumption buildings.
