Yesterday morning, the inauguration ceremony of 2010 s Month of Love and Mercy , sponsored by the Dalian Municipal Government, co-organized by Dalian Municipal Civil Affairs Bureau and Dalian Charity Federation, was held at Olympic Square. Municipal leaders Li Jingrui, Xiao Shengfeng, Zhang Jixian and Cui Qingqun; Lin Qingmin, chairman of Dalian Charity Federation, and charity entrepreneurs and outstanding volunteers attended the ceremony.
With the theme of warming the city with love and mercy , the main activities include: in accordance with one of the things the Municipal Government planned to do for citizens in 2010 that will establish a charity fund of 100 million yuan to help the poor and the old, to assist the aged for medical care, to assist impoverished students and to help in emergency relief, the organizers will mobilize and encourage various enterprises, organizations, social bodies or associations and individuals to set up charitable funds; on the coming New Year's Day and the Spring Festival of 2011, they will initiate an activity of showing your love with donations ; they will continue to advocate that people with jobs donate their one-day income, enterprises their one-day profits and part of their arrears of stock, and work units their sum of savings, raising more money and donations for charity.

Xiao Shengfeng, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Dalian Committee and executive vice mayor, said in his speech that the municipal Party and government organs, mass organizations, relevant departments, civil affairs bureaus of the boroughs and economic pilot zones, and Dalian Charity Federation should effectively organize activity for the Month for Love and Mercy in their own districts, circles, industries and organizations. After the ceremony, Deputy Party secretary of Dalian Li Jingrui gave the order to set off 10 ambulances of the 5th group for the New Rural Medical Assistance and trucks loaded with cotton bedding for refugees in three northern cities. It is learned that the project of New Rural Medical Assistance started up in October, 2006. 40 ambulances in four groups were dispatched to 40 counties and towns, together with 38 volunteers to 18 township hospitals, with a cumulative raised fund of 7 million yuan. In addition, Pengsheng Group established a 50 million yuan charity fund yesterday, and Hongfu Group donated 300,000 yuan to the charity federations in the three northern cities for refugees to rebuild their houses.
