A field study made at a rural tourism market

Yesterday, Vice Mayor Sun Guangtian led persons-in-charge from relevant departments and managers from travel agencies to Anbo Town, Pulandian, for a field study of an event there in order to get more information about the market supply and to create new rural tourism products.

It is learned that the event a Fair for Spring Festival Big Shopping was one of the important activities of the Dalian (Anbo) Spa-Ski Festival 2010. For adequate supply during the festival, Anbo Township Government, through various professional associations, has prepared a total of 20 tons of pork, 15 tons of mutton, 17 tons of beef, 50 tons of fruit, hundreds of tons of vegetables, 5 tons of eggs, 50,000 birds and hundreds of tons of beans and coarse grains. Currently, thousands of citizens have been to the fair.

In the fair, 3 streets of 2,000 meters long are divided into different areas for the display of fine agricultural products, poultry, fruits, seafood, food and daily necessities. Citizens and farmers come and go in a continuous stream. Sun asked in detail about the products, production and prices, and encouraged farmers to develop branded products, to meet the market demand and to increase their own income.

After visiting a demonstration center for the activity Pleasure-in-farmhouse Tourism Laodingshan Courtyard, Sun said that it will not only enrich tourism products to provide farmers a market, but also offer citizens and tourists good & cheap agricultural products by combining tourism with a rural fair and by matchmaking agricultural products & markets. Especially after deep processing, fine packaging and branding, many kinds of local products have added value. We must brand more local products and guide farmers in standardized, intensive and large-scale production as we simultaneously attract residents and tourists to buy the products. Meanwhile, we must positively create new rural fair tourism products through the integration of tourism and urban agriculture, attracting citizens and tourists to the fairs and to shopping in greenhouses after they enjoy the spa and skiing.
