The 6th Guangzhou Friendship Games is held at Jinan University from 28 to 29 November 2009, more than 600 foreigners living in Guangzhou, coming from 45 countries and regions, and more than 300 Guangzhou residents participate in matches of basketball, tennis, table tennis, badminton, etc. Apart from match s own awards, the Games also set the "Best Male Athlete Award", the "Best Female Athlete Award", the "Best Performance Award" and the "Best Organization Award."
Participating in basketball, football, table tennis and badminton competitions, it is the first time that GDUT overseas students have participated in the Games. With their unity and cooperation in their competition with more than 10 universities delegations, GDUT delegates eventually finishes the second and the fifth in the women's table tennis singles, the fifth in men's soccer, the eighth in the women's badminton singles. Natasha, a delegate from Russia wins the "Best Female Athlete" of the Games, the highest award for all female athletes.
Through the preparation and participation in this event, overseas students have enhanced their body, deepened the sense of belonging as well as friendship among one another. At the end of the Games, they are even being to expecting next year s.
