The overseas students conference for the new semester was held in Chinese Language Educational Center on September 23, 2009. Professor Zhang Li, Vice President of GDUT, Ms. Li Hongying, Director of Office of the President on Dongfeng Road Campus, Associate Professor Fang Lingling, Director of Foreign Affairs Office, Ms. Chen Wei, Police Officer of the Division of Exit and Entry Administration of the Guangzhou Municipal Public Security Bureau, teachers of Chinese Language Educational Center and over 100 overseas students from 40 countries attended the conference.
Professor Zhang first expressed her warm welcome to the students, wishing them good health and happiness in the new semester. She then introduced the basic situation of the University, the encouraging development of the University and the development of Chinese Language Educational Center in recent years. Finally, she expressed a few wishes to the students, hoping them observe Chinese laws and the university rules, adapt themselves to the new environment, study hard and make their contribution to the friendship between China and their own country.
Professor Zhang s enthusiastic speech was warmly welcomed by the foreign students. The representatives of the overseas students expressed in Chinese their appreciation to the University and the teachers.
Later, Ms. Chen Wei from the Division of Exit and Entry Administration of the Guangzhou Municipal Public Security Bureau introduced to the students the detailed information of visa application in Guangzhou and answered the students questions patiently.
