GDUT Establishes Cooperation with NUI Galway

Recently, University Secretary Mr. Su Yifan and Mr. James Browne, President of National University of Ireland Galway signed a memorandum of understanding between the two universities. The two sides would promote cooperation on exchange of teaching staff and researchers, exchange of graduate students, joint research, co-publishing of research papers, co-organization of relevant conferences and workshops and exchange of academic materials, publications and information.

National University of Ireland, the second oldest university of Ireland, was founded in 1908. It is a multi-disciplinary university union offering a wide range of courses in liberal arts, science and engineering. The university has a high degree of autonomy and is authorized to grant diplomas. National University of Ireland is a very important part of the Irish higher education system.

It includes 4 of the 7 universities in the Republic of Ireland, which are located in Dublin, Cork, Galway and Maynooth. The university is famous for its courses in economics, software, finance, accounting, law, business, electrical engineering, communication engineering, biology and media.

Established in 1845 as Queen's College Galway, NUI Galway is one of Ireland's foremost centers of academic excellence. With over 15,000 students, it has a long established reputation of teaching and research excellence in each of its seven faculties - Arts, Science, Commerce, Engineering, Celtic Studies, Medicine & Health Sciences, and Law.
As early as the late 80s in the last century, NUI Galway began to receive Chinese students. The university has established contacts with China in water science, engineering, biomedicine and underwater research. Its early graduates have occupied some important posts in Ireland and China.
