Donation Ceremony of Fong Yun Wah Foundation Held at SCAU

On the afternoon of Nov 6, the Donation Ceremony of SCAU 100th Anniversary Education Fund by Fong s Family Foundation based in Hong Kong was held at the square in front of the building of College of Foreign Studies. The building was then renamed Yun Wah Building to show respect for the foundation which donated 1 million RMB to the university. Two daughters of Dr. Fong Yun Wah and a representative of the foundation were present at the ceremony.

Mrs. Wu, daughter of Dr. Fong, wished Happy Anniversary to SCAU, and applauded SCAU s achievements. She said that agriculture is essential to a country, and SCAU has trained numerous agricultural scientists and made important contribution to the development of China. She hoped a better future for the university and ended her speech with Let s work for the next 100 years!

Ater the ceremony, the guests planted tree seedlings at the garden of the building. Mrs. Wu said: Planting trees is like cultivating young people, both require care and attention, and long time commitment.
