Recently, the delegation led by Dr. Maurice P Boland, Vice President of University College Dublin (UCD), Ireland, came to visit SCAU. The purpose of this visit was to have a deep discussion on the detailed contents of the memorandum of cooperation, academic cooperation agreements, and student exchange agreements signed between the two universities last year.
Prof. Li Dasheng, CPC Secretary of SCAU Committee met with the guests, and extended his warm welcome to their visit. Li also learned in details about the various forms of co-cultivating students and had an in-depth discussion on other student exchange programs. He invited UCD to establish Sino-foreign cooperative educational institutions, sharing the teaching resources, and strengthening the cooperation of scientific research.
Dr. Maurice Boland spoke highly of the beautiful campus scenery of SCAU. He said that this was his third visit to SCAU within the past six months. The two sides discussed the cooperation on cultivating students in specific details, and would carry out relevant plans soon. He hoped that the two sides would continue to strengthen the doctoral, postdoctoral, and faculty exchanges and cooperation between two universities on this basis.Besides, the guests also visited laboratories of the College of Life Science, and gave a wonderful lecture to students.
The delegation members included: Jeremy C. Simpson, professor in Cell Biology, Dr. Gordon Purvis, Professor in Agricultural Ecology, Wim G. Meijer, Professor in Microbiology and Dr. Liming Wang, Dean of UCD Confucius Institute for Ireland. Heads from Office of International Relations, College of Informatics and Software, College of Humanities and Law, College of Engineering, College of Life Science and College of Economics and Management also attended the discussion.
