On December 2, SCAU student Ding Jia won the championship at the fifteenth 21st Century Cup National English Speaking Competition regional final in GuangdongProvince, which enabled her to participate in the national final next year.
The 21st Century Cup National English Speaking Competition was recognized as one of the highest national-level English speaking contests. This year, the regional final was held at the SunYat SenUniversity and 25 students from other colleges and universities took part in the regional final.
Over the past years, the National English Speaking Competition had given contestants a chance to speak on a variety of topics closely related to their lives. Chinese students became more open-minded and received various ideas and thinking over the decade. Diversity became more obvious on campus, students had more opportunities to express and show themselves. It was not an easy task for the contestants to win through the fierce competition. Owning to the passion, hard work and persistence, they could finally succeed in the competition.
