Eisenhower Foundation Regional Director Ms. Michelle Sherod Visited SCAU

On December 18, Ms. Michelle Sherod, Eisenhower Foundation Regional Director, US Senator Claire McCaskill and the delegation visited SCAU. President Chen Xiaoyang warmly welcomed the guests.
Chen briefed the energy research areas of SCAU in bio-fuels, such as biogas, bio-diesel manufactured by wood. Ms. Sherod introduced the Eisenhower Foundation as well as her own duty. She said that this visit was to learn more about SCAU in energy and environmental disciplines, particularly the status quo of those related to bio-energy research.
Subsequently, the guests visited the Key Laboratory of Guangdong Province. During the visit, they highly appreciated the research conditions and achievements of SCAU in bio-energy and environmental science. And she hoped that the two sides could strengthen technical exchanges and cooperation in the future.
Eisenhower Foundation was named after the former US President Dwight D. Eisenhower. It was a non-official, non-profit organization which aimed to foster the potential high-level leaders and promote interaction and exchanges between leaders at a global scale. Up to 2008, the Foundation had funded more than 1,700 people from various circles outside the United States to conduct exchanges and visits in US.
