The Delegation from Medical College of Chiangmai University (CMU), led by Professor Kasem, Chairman of Chiangmai University Council, visited Wenzhou Medical College on May 28. President Qu jia, Vice President Lu Fan and heads of concerning departments had a meeting with the CMU delegation, in which they introduced both universities and expressed their common wish to seek cooperation in many fields. A Memorandum is signed between School of Ophthalmology and Optometry, WMC and Medical College of CMU.
At the meeting, President Qu delivered a welcome speech, in which he mentioned that China and Thailand are friendly neighboring countries that record a long history of friendly exchanges between the two peoples. It is under this background that our two universities tried to seek future cooperation. He believed that through communication and understanding, our two universities can find a common ground for cooperation thus promote mutual development
Professor Kasem said CMU had a similar history with Wenzhou Medical College, that s one of the reason they visited Wenzhou. As an old friend of Wenzhou Medical College, he visited Wenzhou Medical College three years ago and was deeply impressed by school of Ophthalmology and Optometry, WMC. He hoped cooperation in Ophthalmology and Traditional Chinese Medicine could be carried out between Chiang Mai University and Wenzhou Medical College.
According to the Memorandum, CMU and WMC will collaborate in student/ faculty exchanges and curriculum development, and at the same time seek cooperation opportunities in research fields of common interest.
