The Delegation of Huachiew Chalermprakiet University

On May 14th, the delegation of Huachiew Chalermprakiet University (HCU) from Thailand, led by Privy Councilor Professor Kasem Wattanachai and President Prachak Pumvises, visited Wenzhou Medical College.

MOU was signed between HCU and WMC to promote collegiality and academic exchanges, which marks HCU has become the 54th friendly cooperative institution of WenzhouMedicalCollege. Both sides agree to carry out joint academic activities and research projects, exchange of faculty and students, develop curricula for short-term training and strengthen cultural exchange.

HCU is the first private University in Thailand that is founded and supported by Overseas Chinese. HuachiewMidwiferySchool, founded by the Poh Teck Tung Foundation, began offering nursing and midwifery training in 1941. It became HuachiewCollege with a single faculty in nursing in 1981 and expanded into a university in 1992 under its current name. The university today is organized into 12 faculties and a graduate school and is known as a bridge between China and Thailand, enhancing the cultural exchanges and communications.
