1,662 teams including over 300 PhD candidates from 213 research institutes affiliated to the Chinese Academy of Sciences and universities participated in the Sixth National Postgraduate Mathematical Modeling Contest. NPU sent five teams to the contest and received one first prize and three second prizes, ranking among the first few teams. These are the best results NPU has ever achieved.
The National Postgraduate Mathematical Modeling Contest aims at helping train postgraduates' innovation ability and enhancing the education quality. The contest has become an effective platform for postgraduates to resolve practical problems, conduct academic exchanges and promote their innovation ability and team work ability. The contest has accelerated the pace of postgraduates' teaching reform and promoted the exchange and cooperation among the Chinese universities.
