Ten NPU PhD Candidates Win the PhD Candidate Academic New Personality Prizes

It is learned from the Ministry of Education that, starting from 2010 the Ministry of Education decides to establish the academic new personality prizes for the PhD candidates in the universities that can award PhD degrees, aiming to provide priority financial aid for those who have excellent academic performance, strong innovation awareness and great potentials for research.

The first batch of the PhD candidate academic new personality prizes is experimentally awarded to the universities under Project 985 the total amount being 20,000,000 yuan. At the experimental stage each PhD candidate can have 30,000 to 50,000 yuan; about 700 schooling Ph.D candidates will receive the financial aid.

NPU is included and its 10 PhD candidates win the prizes.

NPU selects and recommends such 10 excellent PhD candidates as Wang Jianlei, Shi Wentao, Xiao Heye, Liu Qijun, Song Shaojie, Mei Shaohui, Zhang Tuo, Wang Zhu, Wang Xiaodong and Kong Xianghe to be this year's prize winners.
